Collingwood’s midfield has been decimated ahead of its clash against West Coast on Saturday with two of its first picked on-ballers ruled out.

The Pies will be without Taylor Adams after he tested positive to COVID-19 on Wednesday, while Jordan De Goey is serving a one-game suspension for a dumping tackle on Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield.

Speaking on 3AW Sportsday, round three Rising Star nominee Nick Daicos was asked whether he had put his hand up for a midfield guernsey.

But the son-of-a-gun showed he’s as tactful off the field as he is on…

“I’d love to play midfield but we’ve got a number of players who can fill that void,” he straight-batted.

“So we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.”
