Mike Hussey predicts controversial wicket
Mike Hussey isn’t called ‘Mr.Cricket’ for nothing and on Wednesday night, we found out why.
During Brisbane Heat’s match against Hobart Hurricanes at the Gabba, Alex Ross tried to steal a second run in order to chase down an unlikely 180 for victory.
Jofra Archer’s throw deflected off Ross’ elbow onto the stumps and despite his bat being safely grounded, he was given out obstructing the field, with the third umpire judging that the 25-year-old changed his line while trying to make his ground.
🤔 Alex Ross of @HeatBBL was just given out for Obstructing the Field in the @BBL, but was it the correct decision?

In what was undoubtedly the most controversial moment of BBL|07 so far, Ross departed on 27 amid a bitter stoush between captains Brendon McCullum and George Bailey that continued post-game.
Former Australia cricketer and Macquarie Cricket commentator Mike Hussey recognised what was happening immediately, questioning whether Ross deserved to be given out during Wednseday night’s coverage.
“This could be interesting,” Huss said.
“I wonder if the umpires are just checking to see if Ross changed the direction of his run to try and protect himself.”
