Minister for Children Jenny Mikakos says she’s still in charge of youth justice in Victoria, despite Corrections staff taking over the management of Parkville and Malmsbury following riots and a mass break out.

The Opposition has been calling for Ms Mikakos to be sacked over the crisis.

Speaking with 3AW Drive’s Tom Elliott, Ms Mikakos couldn’t guarantee her position in the future.

‘Do you think you will stay in charge of this area?’ Tom asked Ms Mikakos.

She says, ‘These are matters Tom that need to be worked through in government.

‘I will support what ever measures need to be put in place to ensure we have a robust youth justice system.’

Tom tells Ms Mikakos, ‘You haven’t been doing a very good job.’
