MISSING: Daniel Andrews – Neil Mitchell clips low-profile Premier

Tom Elliott

Neil Mitchell has clipped Daniel Andrews for going missing.

The Premier was booked to appear on 3AW Mornings on Friday, but pulled out earlier in the week.

He hasn’t appeared on Neil’s program since Grand Final eve, when the pair had a fiery debate about the new public holiday.

‘We had a blue,’ Neil said today, admitting Mr Andrews’ continued unavailability was ‘a matter of great frustration to me’.

‘Maybe this is the problem, we have a blue every time he comes in.

‘But you don’t see him for weeks and weeks and weeks and then all these critical issues bank up and you have a blue about it.

‘It is a great shame, but we are continuing to attempt to get him to honour what I believe was an agreement to come in and do it every fortnight.’

3AW Mornings hope to host Daniel Andrews next week.

Premiers from both sides of politics have appeared regularly on 3AW Mornings since Jeff Kennett in the 1990s.

Several Prime Ministers have also appeared regularly, and used the slot as an opportunity to speak directly to voters via the talkback line.

‘Malcolm Turnbull says he will but we haven’t nailed that down as yet.’
