Monash Freeway closed in both directions on Tuesday, sparking traffic chaos

There was traffic chaos in Melbourne’s south-east on Tuesday when the Monash Freeway was closed in both directions during morning peak.

A police operation forced the freeway to be shut in both directions between Warrigal Road and Burke Road.

It took police just over two hours to resolve the situation.

A woman was taken into custody following her stand-off with police.
