Nearly 23,000 people have signed a petition to stop an Australian lingerie brand showcasing “porn-style” advertising in shopping centres.

Melbourne father Kevin Thor  started a petition on change.org, outraged that Honey Birdette is showcasing advertising in their shop fronts with what he says is “sexualised” images of women.

Mr Thor is also calling for Westfield to step in and remove the images.

He said he was forced to explain to his 4-year-old daughter and 6-year-old son who saw the advertising as they walked through Fountain Gate shopping centre.

“I just think they are really sexualised images of women and they are not appropriate for kids to be looking at, and adults, in a family friendly shopping centre, ” he told Tom Elliott.

He contacted the Advertising Standards Bureau, and his complaint was upheld.

But since then, the company has replaced them with a new advertising campaign that Mr Thor says is just as offensive.

He wants Westfield to take action.

“I’ve reached out to them before… one of the points they’ve made is that not enough people have complained,” he said.
