More than 50 regional Victorian shows to be canned again due to COVID-19

More than 50 regional shows across Victoria are set to be canned again this year due to COVID-19, in what is a further blow to local economies.

Rod Bowles, Executive Officer of Victorian Agricultural Shows, expressed his frustration at the lack of “clear vision” for restrictions around the state.

He said it wasn’t just the financial impact that would hurt country communities.

“The annual show is a community event, in lots of cases,” he said.
