A fire that’s destroyed a Campbellfield factory is being treated as suspicious.

Initially spotted by the police helicopter around 8pm on Monday, the blaze at the logistics factory on Camp Road quickly took hold of the entire 30 x 50 metre building.

Fuelled by raw flammable liquids stored at the site, bringing trains to a halt on nearby lines.

Surrounding businesses were also evacuated, with nearby residents told to stay in doors due to the toxic fumes.

It took more than 70 firefighters about three hours to bring the blaze under control.
