Mother angry after taxi driver texts on phone while driving around her teenage daughters

A mother has been left angry after she discovered a taxi driver who gave her two teenage daughters a lift spent much of the trip on his phone.

Jenny told Tom Elliott the driver was texting basically the whole trip and playing with the maps and not focusing on the road.

Her daughters are 13 and 15 and were felt very uncomfortable in the car.

‘They know that it (texting and driving) is a big no, no,’ she explained.

Simon Purssey from 13CABS said he was happy to look into the matter.

He said the driver would be entered into a ‘re-education program’ if the claims were true.
