Sarah* actually has two sons who’ve been involved in youth gangs, with one going in and out of Parkville Youth Justice Precinct multiple times.

While Sarah* believes there are some great police officers in the community, she questioned the effectiveness of the youth justice system.

“When you’re living in a community where you look a certain way, you actually have been labelled to be a bad kid from the time you’re at school to the time you’re in the community,” Sarah* told Neil Mitchell.

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton and former Drug Court Magistrate Tony Parsons joined Neil Mitchell to hold a youth crime forum to discuss the concerning increase in youth crime in Victoria as well as the anti-Semitic threats made in South Yarra.
