Motorist forced into action as barrier collapses on West Gate Freeway

A motorist has described her horror after a part of a wall on the West Gate Freeway collapsed onto her car over the weekend.

Lauren was driving on Power Street towards the Bolte Bridge on Sunday, when high winds saw the barrier topple onto the freeway.

“There was some swearing (as the incident was unfolding),” she said on 3AW Drive.

“I kind of veered and pulled a bit into the right hand late … but I was wary to cause even more of an (accident).”
