Two men are have been arrested and a machete has been seized following a high-speed pursuit through Melbourne’s south-east on Monday morning.

The stolen grey Hyundai station wagon reached speeds of up to 150 kilometres per hour and was at one stage driving on the wrong side of the road on EastLink.

Listener Neil told Tom Elliott he had to swerve into the left lane to avoid a head-on collision.

“He overtook on the right on the wrong side of the road, straight up,” he said.

“He came straight down from the Dandenong area and he was flying.

“There was no emergency services following him or anything.”

The men then dumped the station wagon and fled in a silver Mazda.

Police tracked that car to Monahans Road in Cranbourne where they found two men hiding in the roof of a house.

Investigators seized a machete and are looking into whether the men committed further offences across Melbourne’s east and south-east.
