The Victorian Multicultural Commission says it’s not afraid to say Merry Christmas, but has decided to use more inclusive terms in its holiday greeting this year.

The Commission has come under fire for sending out a greeting which is headed Festive Greetings and wishes recipients a peaceful holiday season.

Commission Chair Helen Kapalos has told Tony Jones says the message is not designed to include all those in the community.

‘We are the most culturally diverse state in this country.’

‘If it offends them, or insults them, I’m sorry on behalf of the commission. But I don’t see this being a big issue.’
