A young mum who accidentally dropped her son’s device before going on holiday says it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it forced her kids into a digital detox.

Mum and News Corp journalist Alexia Purcell told Nick McCallum it took some time, but it ended up being the best thing for her sons, aged 5 and 3.

“So I drop the iPad, much to his horror,” she said.

“At first the kids were looking to us to entertain them.

“Then after a few days they stopped asking and the results were quite remarkable in the six days they were screen-free.”
