My Fair Lady star Anna O’Byrne joins Denis Walter on 3AW Afternoons

The production of Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady is about to hit the stage at Melbourne’s Regent theatre.

Featuring a stellar cast under the direction of Julie Andrews, the lead role of Eliza Doolittle is played by Anna O’Byrne, a young Australian who has taken the West End by storm.

Speaking on 3AW Afternoons, Anna told Denis Walter that auditioning for the role in front of Julie Andrews, who made the role of Eliza Doolittle so famous, was utterly surreal.

“Walking into the room was hugely daunting, but she’s so warm and generous…she has been a huge idol of mine and continues to be”.
