Mystery surrounds overnight shooting
LATEST: Mystery surrounds the shooting of a 41-year-old man who managed to drive himself to the Northern Hospital early this morning.
The man, who is known to police, remains in a critical but stable condition with at least one gunshot wound to the head and another to the upper body.
It’s not yet known when or where the shooting happened, although there were bullet holes in the windscreen of the car the man drove to hospital.
Detective Inspector Steve Clark from the Armed Crime Squad says anyone with information is urged to come forward.
‘There are bullet holes in the car – our problem is we’ve been unable to speak to our victim,’ he said.
‘We are really in the dark as to what’s occurred, it may well be that he’s been shot in the car, we don’t know.’
He said they were eager to speak to him about the incident.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
