Rafael Nadal has made history, breaking clear from Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to win 21 major singles titles.

The 35-year-old Spaniard trailed two-sets-to-love before winning in five sets, in a match lasting five hours and 24 minutes last night.

He’s described his win over Daniil Medvedev as the Australian Open as the “biggest comeback” of his tennis career.

It’s Nadal’s second Australian Open win, and the first the first time he’s recovered from two-sets behind in Melbourne, Paris, London or New York.
