A Word On The Street contributor has told Tom Elliott of two naked men spray-painting a train on Friday.

The vandalism occurred while the men dangerously trespassed on rail land about 3.30pm.

The footage was sent in by 3AW listener Mike, and filmed by wife Belinda who was waiting for a train Gardenvale station.

It shows the men wearing nothing but masks.

They graffiti obscene symbols on the train before fleeing as the train departed the Sandringham-bound platform.

“They wrote quite explicit language and drawings, as you could imagine, and then did little Toyota jumps and the train took off and they ran back into the bushes,” Belinda told Tom Elliott.

Metro Trains is investigating.

“This video displays extremely extremely dangerous and risky behaviour as these people are on the tracks.  It is also very disappointing to see people graffiti a train,” Metro said in a statement.

“We share community concern about graffiti and spend more than $10 million on the issue every year. This is money that could be better spent improving the network.

“The railway is only dangerous for those that choose to take these types of risks, and it is very concerning to see these people behaving so recklessly as they risk their lives or serious injury.

“We ask our customers if they witness this type of irresponsible behaviour to call Triple Zero or press the emergency button on train carriages or on platforms.

“We have Authorised Officers across the network, CCTV cameras at every station and train carriages and a dedicated security and surveillance team who investigate every incident.

“We work closely with Victoria Police to investigate any unlawful and unsafe behaviour.”
