Police are hunting the driver of a stolen car which was involved in a nasty smash at Noble Park on Thursday.

3AW caller David, one of the first on the scene, gave Tom Elliott the Word On The Street.

He said a Subaru Forester ‘ran a red light’ on the Princes Highway trying to drive onto EastLink.

The caller said the driver made the dangerous move in a bid to escape police.

He said the car slammed into a Holden Commodore, trapping its driver.

David said two men fled the Forester and ran into bushland, leaving behind a girl behind in the process.

‘I think that pretty much tells you it was nicked,’ he said.

Police confirmed with 3AW Drive they were investigating the incident.

The driver of the Holden was taken to Dandenong Hospital with minor injuries.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
