Nasty smash throws Monash into chaos…

A nasty smash on the Monash Freeway has thrown Melbourne’s afternoon peak into chaos.

3AW Drive was told about the crash involving at least five cars shortly after 3pm on Tuesday.

It saw all lanes of the Monash closed outbound, near Narre Warren North Road.

Two people were taken to hospital.

A man in his 20s was taken to The Alfred with abdominal pain and a suspected broken leg.

A second patient was taken to Casey Hospital with minor injuries.
