Nat Fyfe still can’t guarantee he’ll be fit for Fremantle’s first final
Fremantle gun Nat Fyfe still can’t guarantee he’ll play in next week’s qualifying final.
Fyfe, who is sidelined with an inflamed fibula, told 3AW ‘all his rehab’ was aimed at getting him on the field in the first week of finals but stopped short of saying it was a certainty.
‘I should be right,’ Fyfe said on 3AW Football.
‘The plan is that I’ll play next week.
‘All my rehab lines me up to play.
‘It’s not ideal missing a couple of games going in, and I missed a couple a few weeks back, so I haven’t had the ideal preparation.
‘But you rarely do.’
Fyfe said he took part in a ‘light’ running session on Friday and would look to do a ‘little bit more’ early next week before Thursday’s crucial final training session.
On a more positive note, the superstar midfielder was quite rapt to hear what he’d won for claiming this year’s VicSuper 3AW Footballer of the Year award.
