Nationals leaders’ plea to protect children from gambling advertising
Federal leader of the National Party, David Littleproud, has called for greater restriction of gambling advertising, particularly for the sake of children and families.
A parliamentary inquiry has been launched to look into gambling advertising and what can be regulated to protect children.
“Families have a lot thrown at them at the moment, and I think personally there’s a time where families should just be able to be families, escape from the real world and just watch some sport and enjoy it,” Mr Littleproud told Neil Mitchell.
“This parliamentary inquiry will try and strike the balance about the type of ads and the timing of those ads and what is appropriate, particularly focused on children and family.”
