Neil Mitchell: Australia Day is ‘just not working at the moment’
Neil Mitchell says it’s time Australia took a united stance on Australia Day.
Controversy over the day has been building for years and many businesses, including Woolworths, are now giving employees the option to work on the public holiday and take another day off instead.
Neil Mitchell says something needs to change.

“If we’re going to move it, move it. If we’re going to leave it at January 26, leave it there, celebrate it, recognise it. Enough of the sniping and arguing,” he said.
“Australia seems to be tearing itself apart over something that should be unifying.
“I don’t mind if it’s moved … but if we do that we have to embrace it, do it properly and have everyone on board.”
