NEIL MITCHELL: Australia, it’s time to respect our elders
Neil Mitchell is sticking up for Australia’s elderly.
He reckons today’s story about insurance company QBE wanting to introduce S-plates for senior drivers is symptomatic of an increasingly bad attitude towards seniors.
‘Health insurance, pension changes, superannuation – seniors are a target for all sorts of things at the moment,’ he said.
‘The simple point here is that Australia doesn’t like old people.
‘If you apply that same prejudice to ethnic and religious groups, there’d be outrage.
‘We need to remember they build this country into what it is today.’
