Neil Mitchell blasts Daniel Andrews using ‘language of political scoundrel’
Neil Mitchell has accused Daniel Andrews of using ‘the language of political scoundrel’.
Mr Andrews said in parliament that he ‘can’t recall’ any complaints about the leader of the firefighters union, Peter Marshall, in the way he treated staff.
However, The Herald Sun procured a leaked memo from the Premier’s main adviser on industrial relations explicitly complaining about Mr Marshall.
‘He’s either misleading parliament, or he has genuinely forgotten something extremely sensitive, in which case he’s incompetent,’ Neil said.
State political reporter Lauren Hilbert told Neil that Mr Andrews stands by the comments.
‘He said the memo was selectively quoted. He insists that no complaint has ever been made,’ she said.
