Neil Mitchell says he’s “a little disappointed” the state opposition used his voice in an advertisement without his permission.

In a 90-second advertisement on social media highlighting contentious decisions made by Daniel Andrews, like closing playgrounds, the 3AW Mornings host’s voice can be heard.

Neil Mitchell did not give permission for his voice to be used.

“They’ve used my voice, and they’ve done that by going to our website and getting a copy of an editorial that I was delivering on air,” he said.

“I did not do voice over for this advertisement, I would not do voice over for this advertisement.

“I’m a little disappointed they didn’t at least have the courtesy, as would normally be the case, to ask if they could use my voice.”

The 3AW Mornings host says if he’d been asked, he would have requested the party made it clear the audio was from his radio program, not a paid voice over.

“I would not do that for any political party, in fact, I don’t do that for anybody.”
