Neil Mitchell: Daniel Andrews and Matthew Guy are ‘souring Victoria’
Poor behaviour at early voting booths for the state election has led the Victorian Electoral Commissioner Warwick Gately to issue a statement saying he’s “extremely disappointed”, and Neil Mitchell says the Premier and opposition leader are responsible for the “sour” mood surrounding the election.
The Victorian Electoral Commission has also issued cease and desist notices to a small number of independent candidates and political parties this week.
Neil Mitchell says “Victoria is becoming a nasty place” and he thinks Daniel Andrews and Matthew Guy deserve some of the blame.
“You treat us like fools and it makes us angry, and the leaders have been behaving like dodgy conmen to some extent. It sours the community mood,” the 3AW Mornings host said.
“The Premier has been just outright misleading, Matthew Guy has been evasive as far as we know, but both of them are treating us like fools. It’s little wonder there is anger in the streets. We are led from the top and the example from the top is very, very dodgy.”
