Neil Mitchell defends Sam Newman amid ‘harassing bully’ criticism

Newman is under fire for comments directed at co-host of The Footy Show, Rebecca Maddern.
Today, teacher Christopher Bantick wrote in the Herald Sun that Newman is ‘irrelevant’ and a ‘harassing bully’.

‘He is a clown, an act, a performer,’ Neil said.
‘Sam Newman is not a bully, he is nothing like it. You can criticise his jokes and his act, but he is no bully.
‘When did we get so serious?’
