Neil Mitchell demands answers from Bill Shorten over ‘secret tape’ revelations

Neil Mitchell says Bill Shorten must answer several questions after a “secret tape” emerged of the alternative prime minister promising to tear up Australia’s industrial laws in front of striking CFMEU workers.

Mr Shorten was recorded while speaking to protesters at a Queensland coalmine last October.

“Bill Shorten has promised to change the law to pander to the CFMEU,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“He is promising to change the law to pander to the most lawless, irresponsible, ratbag union in this country.

“Bill Shorten’s strategy lately is to commit to nothing and answer nothing.

“He is trying to win office through the power of silence and inertia.

“Today, he’s got to answer this.

“He’s got to end this charade of silence.”
