Neil Mitchell has questioned the frenzy surrounding a fiery clash between Steve Price and columnist Jamila Rizvi on The Project.

An online petition calling on host Carrie Bickmore to apologise for apparently ‘bullying’ Price has garnered more than 17,000 signatures.

Neil Mitchell said it was an overreaction.

‘Everybody grow up,’ he said on 3AW Mornings.

‘For heaven’s sake, it’s a debate program.

‘If you’re going to worry about that – who’s bullying who – then you’re not going to have robust debate.

‘She was holding her own, he was standing up for himself, where’s the problem?’
