Neil Mitchell explains why the Mardi Gras should move to Melbourne

Neil Mitchell says the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras should move to Melbourne.

It comes after Victoria recorded the strongest “Yes” vote of all states in Australia in the same-sex marriage postal survey and Melbourne tied for the strongest “Yes” vote of all electorates.

The annual pride parade is held in Sydney, however, Neil Mitchell said it would be more at home in Melbourne, given the results.

Even Queensland, typically known as Australia’s most conservative state, was stronger in its support for marriage equality than New South Wales.

“Bring the Mardi Gras to Melbourne!” Neil Mitchell said on Thursday.

“Why not!?”
