Neil Mitchell says he’s getting sick of the uninformed commentary from Sydney on Melbourne’s problem with African gangs.

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott is the latest politician to weigh into the debate, questioning why we continued to allow refugees from Africa into the country.

However, as Neil Mitchell pointed out, not even 1 per cent of refugees to enter Australia over the past five years were from Sudan or South Sudan.

That migration happened in the early 2000s – under a Liberal government.

“They’re Australia born, the majority of them,” Neil Mitchell said.

“They’re the children of refugees.

“Those refugee parents are as frustrated as anybody.

“I’m a little sick of people from Sydney talking about our problems in Melbourne without entirely understanding them.”
