Neil Mitchell gives an insight into his never dull relationship with Shane Warne

Neil Mitchell has given an insight into his dealings with Shane Warne.

The 3AW Mornings host said he knew Warne well, but their relationship was often and up and down.

But Neil Mitchell said Warne never held a grudge.

Neil Mitchell said the 12-month ban Warne received in 2003 after testing positive for using a diuretic had a significant impact on the sporting star, mentally.

“He rang me every night at home for about two weeks,” Neil said on Monday.

“We’d literally talk for hours.

“He was distraught.

“It was like I was counselling him.”
