Neil Mitchell has an update on killer driver Puneet Puneet

Puneet Puneet is in custody.

Neil Mitchell received a red hot tip on Friday morning that the man who killed Dean Hofstee on City Road in 2008 had been arrested in India.

He notoriously fled Australia on a friend’s passport after pleading guilty and has continually avoided being extradited back here, claiming Australia is racist.

He was drunk and speeding at the time of the crash.

But Neil received a text message on Friday, which has since been confirmed by police.

“(It read) Puneet is in custody in India,” the 3AW Mornings host said.

“The sooner we get him back and give the (Hofstee) family some justice, the more decent country we will be.”
