Neil Mitchell hits back at ‘garbage’ claim from Daniel Andrews

Neil Mitchell has hit out at Daniel Andrews after the Premier denied government inaction was the driving factor in causing Victoria’s emergency response crisis, despite concerns being raised with his government in 2015.

The Premier continually referenced the impacts of COVID while speaking with reporters about the bombshell ESTA report on Tuesday, more than three days after it was released publicly on Saturday, a move which has also drawn heavy criticism.

“It’s garbage,” Neil Mitchell said on Tuesday.

An independent report found ESTA had an “insufficient” funding system and concerns were raised with the Andrews government in 2015, several years before the pandemic arrived.
