Neil Mitchell hits out at ‘stupid’ restriction on Dustin Fletcher
3AW Mornings host Neil Mitchell says it’s ridiculous Essendon great Dustin Fletcher can’t walk on the ground or enter the change rooms while watching his teenage son.
The recently retired 40-year-old is among those bound by strict guidelines following bans handed out over the 2012 supplements saga.
Fletcher’s son, Mason, is seen as a future AFL prospect, but his dad was forced to watch an entire trial match from the grandstands on Tuesday.
While he can understand why certain restrictions may apply at AFL level, Neil Mitchell says this goes too far.
‘It’s nonsense,’ he said.
‘It’s stupid.’
