The Neil Mitchell program has had another win!

3AW Mornings has lost count of the number of complaints it’s received about fines handed out for speeding in zones with variable limits.

Most callers and emailers say they had no idea the limit was in place at the time of their offence.

They’ve subsequently been treated as “hoons” under the law.

But that could be about to change.

Victoria’s road safety commissioner has recommended the government amend legislation to allow for “more discretion” when it comes to offences in notorious variable zones.

Neil Mitchell spoke with John Voyage about his recommendations on Wednesday.
