Neil Mitchell questions motive of Billy Brownless interview on The Footy Show

Neil Mitchell has questioned the motive of Channel 9’s ‘exclusive’ interview with Billy Brownless on The Footy Show tonight.

Brownless will open up publicly about the ordeal surrounding him and Garry Lyon for the first time.

But the 3AW Mornings host was left confused.

‘They’ve been asking the rest of us to shirk it?’ Neil Mitchell said.

‘I know it’s hard for them to avoid, but they’ve been telling us all along it’s a private matter … The Footy Show comes back and what do they do? Talk about it.

‘Wouldn’t it have been legitimate to just open the program and say ‘Look this has been a very difficult time for two of our mates … Garry is unwell, there’s a complex personal issue behind the scenes.

‘I mean, I can also why it’s tempting because it will rate and ratings are tempting in television.

‘But there also things that are more important than ratings.’
