Neil Mitchell questions Prime Minister Turnbull on North Korea, gas bills, more

Tom Elliott

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull says China holds the key to ‘extreme’ tension on the Korean peninsula.

And he thinks China is starting to understand that.

North Korea is warning of a ‘nuclear holocaust’ unless the United States stops its rhetoric against the rogue state.

There are concerns Pyongyang may launch a nuclear missile, as US navy ships patrol the Korean peninsula

‘It is a very tense time on the Korean peninsula, extremely tense time,’ Mr Turnbull told Neil Mitchell.

‘The government above all that has ability to bring (North Korea) to its senses … is China.

‘My impression is that (China) are showing a greater awareness to bring their influence to bear.’
