Neil Mitchell reacts to Bruce Lehrmann’s second trial being abandoned (and what happens from here)

A second trial of Bruce Lehrmann has been abandoned.

The Director of Public Prosecutions said it would not be going ahead due to “compelling evidence” a retrial would present a significant and unacceptable risk to the life of Brittany Higgins.

Lehrmann categorically denies sexually assaulting Higgins at Parliament House and has always maintained he is innocent.
