Neil Mitchell says there’s nothing wrong with helping your kids buy property
Neil Mitchell has taken issue with Bill Shorten’s criticism of the Prime Minister’s comments about getting into the property market.
Mr Shorten criticised Malcolm Turnbull on Wednesday for suggesting parents should help their kids buy property if they can.
But Neil thinks the Opposition Leader is just playing on the ‘politics of envy’.
‘There is this real smell of class warfare,’ Neil said.
‘There’s a suspicion that aspiration is a bad thing, that if you’re lucky enough to have a quid in the bank, you’re a bad person.
‘The principle is: it is not wrong to help your kids.’
A couple of listeners called in with their own experiences helping their kids enter the property market.
