Hundreds of children from all over Victoria have ditched school, flocking to Melbourne to protest about climate change.

Neil Mitchell spoke with Callum from Castlemaine, one of the organisers.

He’s 11.

“I’m here because I believe the government isn’t doing enough to save my future and the world I will be living in,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“I want them to start investing in 100 per cent renewable energy.”

“I really have mixed feelings on this,” Neil said.

“I love to see passion from kids and commitment from kids and I even enjoy the naivety of kids.

“But 11? It’s a little bit young. I suspect it’s reflecting the influence of adults in their life which again, is not all that unusual.”
