Neil Mitchell speaks with homeless woman sleeping outside Flinders Street Station

Tom Elliott

A woman living outside Flinders Street Station says she’s ‘too old’ to be on the streets and will leave as soon as suitable housing is arranged.

Naomi told Neil Mitchell she was treated like a ‘princess’ outside the train station, with food and money both freely available.

She said she’d happily move into a home, but only if it was safe.

‘They need to put people in that get along with people,’ Naomi, 41, explained on 3AW Mornings.

‘There’s a lot of drug use and abuse out there.’
