The Lebanese father at the centre of the attempted child abduction case which has seen a 60 Minutes crew detained in Beirut says he won’t be dropping charges.

Neil Mitchell spoke exclusively with Ali Elamine on Tuesday.

He told Neil Mitchell the two children did not know their mother, Sally Faulkner, was in jail.

He also hit out at how the situation had been painted in Australia.

‘If the tables were turned and I had shown up in Australia and tried to kidnap someone, I probably would have been shot and called a terrorist,’ he said on 3AW Mornings.

‘It’s bullcrap.’

Neil Mitchell agreed that Australians would be ‘screaming’ if the shoe was on the other foot.
