Neil Mitchell suggests permanent tribute to honour the memory of Lou Richards, ‘The Lip’

Tom Elliott

Neil Mitchell has suggested a permanent tribute to honour the memory of Lou Richards.

‘We need an award for the best former-player who is judged the best commentator or character of the year. I think the award should be known as, ‘The Lip’.

‘Present it on Brownlow night to the former player who has done the best in that year to engage the public, to entertain, to perform, in the spirit of Lou Richards’, Neil said.

Speaking on 3AW Mornings, one of Lou’s two daughters, Nicole Morrison, paid tribute to her father and endorsed the idea.

‘He’s just the best, we all just loved him to bits and we were his number one priority after mum’.

‘I think he would love that…I think he would think that is a great honour’, Nicole said.
