Neil Mitchell: The Jake Carlisle statement is a mockery

Neil Mitchell has taken aim at Jake Carlisle’s apology for a video that appears to depict him taking illicit drugs.

Carlisle issued a statement on Thursday, but amid a sea of apologetic rhetoric, he failed to actually admit to anything.

‘What did you do, Jake?’ Neil asked.

‘You can’t put out a statement saying how sorry you are and not confess to what you actually did.’

Neil also said he feels for Carlisle’s new club, who had walked blindly into the scandal.

‘How Jake Carlisle’s management could not tell St Kilda before he signed up just defies belief.’
