Neil Mitchell has been left torn over a job advertisement which explicitly asks for applicants to be of indigenous descent.

The 3AW Mornings host said he understood why the criteria may

‘My initial reaction was to say fair enough, I mean there is certainly an employment problem among indigenous people,’ Neil Mitchell said.

‘But then I think, hang on, if I’m not indigenous and I’m looking for a job and see that I’d be annoyed and put out by it.

‘It’s positive discrimination, if you like, but it is discrimination.’

He spoke with Warren Mundine, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Indigenous Advisory Council, about the issue.
