Neil Mitchell’s red hot tip on what sparked traffic chaos in Melbourne’s west

red hot tip confirmed

Union action sparked Thursday morning’s chaos on roads in Melbourne’s west, Neil Mitchell has confirmed.

Drivers were left fuming after they were stuck in kilometres of traffic during the morning peak.

Callers reported 20-minute trips taking two hours.

Neil Mitchell said an issue with the union sparked the delays.

3AW Mornings has been told WorkSafe was called to a construction site near Williamstown Road in the early hours of Thursday morning.

No safety issue was identified.

That inspection caused delays packing up a crane, which resulted in lanes not being reopened in time for the morning peak.
