New $128 million stand to be built at Flemington racecourse

Flemington is in for a serious makeover and it’ll begin just days after this year’s spring carnival.

It’s been announced a new $128 million Club Stand will be built in time for the 2018 Melbourne Cup carnival.

The 92-year-old Members Stand will be demolished.

The project will create 350 full-time jobs, with the new stand to feature five different levels and a 360-degree view of the mounting yard.

The members lawn will be larger, and a rooftop garden will give patrons spectacular views of the racecourse and city.
