Newly re-elected Robert Doyle says it’s important there’s a uniformity of speed signs in the city and improving visibility.

Callers to Neil Mitchell have expressed concerns about being caught out by changing limits and then being fined.

The Lord Mayor says he is not expanding 40km/h zones around Melbourne – ‘It might be VicRoads… But the city is already 40km/h… They tell me they might have put up signs there.’ he tells Neil Mitchell.

A few areas around the city have new 40km/h signs, including a school zone at the new CBD Haileybury Campus.

The Lord Mayor tells 3AW Mornings he will follow the concerns up with Vic Roads.
